Hey hey hey, welcome back…

Now that you’ve built a complete e-commerce store it’s time to jazz it up and take it to the next level.

You can do this by extending the capabilities of your store and increasing your revenue using good marketing strategies.

Okay, that’s a lot of words and a nice sounding sentence, but what does it really mean?

Well, Shopify gives you access to different features that can really take your store to the next level.

Like this Whatsapp Plugin, for example. Superlemon has solved this with their app, which allows merchants to add a live Whatsapp chat button. This is used for customer support, sending order and delivery notifications, and much, much more. Doesn’t that sound convenient?

Or, take a look at how Pushowl provided push-notifications for abandoned cart recovery, Shipping and sales, and lots more as you can see here.

If this is something your client requires - you just have to integrate this app with your store.

Shopify is designed to get merchants up and running as soon as possible. But, each merchant is unique, so you use apps to solve their specific challenges. This allows merchants to tailor their experiences on Shopify to exactly their needs.

Think of it this way. If Shopify gives you a furnished house, and the apps act as all the additional things that make the house a home: blankets, a TV, cutlery sets, a robotic coffee machine...you get it.

So, let’s go over how we can do this.

On your Admin dashboard, select Apps, just like we did when adding our shipping provider.

On the page here you’ll see some of the “greatest hits” or specific apps to “get customers” and so on. You can scroll through these and you’ll find some great integrations.

But the App store is where you’ll really find a sea of options.

Click “Shop for apps”. You’ll see tons of apps here, all for different purposes. From “finding products” to “marketing”, to much, much more.

Let’s say we need an app for reviews. Let’s search for that.

There you go, a whopping 760 apps to choose from!

This one here looks pretty good - let’s check it out.

Here’s what an app page looks like - it lists down all the features, what you’ll get from it, the different plans, and how you can get started, with images and pricing. Basically, everything you need to know before making an informed decision.

Once you’re happy with it, or Appy with it - you simply click “Add App” and read a few more of the details here, and then, install the app. All that’s left to do now is to create an account.

If you refresh the page.. There!  The app is integrated with the online store!

Let’s just take a moment here and revel in the glory of being a store developer. Or an app integrator. Or just, you know, a high-functioning adult with a suuuuper relevant skillset. Good job.

Okay now, back to the apps.

Whatever your needs - adding customer reviews, improving email marketing, publishing your products to Facebook, getting in-depth analytics or even just looking for ideas of what to sell, there's definitely an app for that. The Shopify app store offers over 6 thousand apps. One of the best parts of this is that many of these apps come with free trial periods. Remember your stingy client we were talking about? We’ll here’s your solution for that, ‘cause trial periods are a great way to evaluate if the app works for you or not. Some are free and some are paid depending on the app.

Okay! Hopefully you have a good understanding of app integrations now. Remember, the ecommerce landscape is rapidly changing, and shopify’s merchant base continues to grow every day. There’s always going to be opportunities for developers to build creative solutions, ‘cause merchant problems are plenty.

But hey, you’re in business baby.
