Shipping and fulfillment. Well, the world of shipping and fulfillment can seem complex if you’re not super familiar with it already, so we’re gonna zoom way out here, and look at things broadly, before we get into the specifics.
Understanding the best ways to ship your products is an important part of running your business. Before you take your first order, you need to decide what shipping methods you want to use, and then set it up in your store so that your customers can choose a delivery method at checkout.
At the Admin Dashboard, go to Settings. Select “Shipping and Delivery”.
Now, there are three methods to get your products to your customers- shipping, local delivery, and local pickup. Let’s look at these one by one.
To set up local delivery, you need to enable the local delivery option for each location you offer delivery from. You can offer delivery within a set distance from your location, or for certain postal codes.
As you can see here, you can use either Pin Codes or set a delivery radius, and then you can add your price below.
Now that you’ve understood how shipping works, the next step is to identify a shipping partner to fulfil these orders. Here’s how you can choose a shipping partner.
On the Admin Dashboard, choose “Apps”, and here’s the page that’ll open up. On the top right corner you’ll find “Shop for Apps”, select that, and the Shopify app store opens up. Scroll down and you’ll find a section on “Shipping Apps for India”. That’s where you want to be.
Oh, and you could also get here by heading to the “Collections” tab on the navigation bar. On the dropdown that opens up, click “Shipping apps for India”.
And whole world of Shipping Apps opens up. There’s really a bunch to choose from. Do your research and come to a conclusion with your client.
Lancify Kicks is going with Delhivery. You can read about all their offerings here, and then click on “Add App”. There, your shipping partner is all set.
Okay, almost there. Now, let’s look at domains.
