Alright, this is a big one.

A crucial part of your online store is the Payment gateway, because through this, customers can actually pay for their orders, which means your client can make money and you'll be in business!

When choosing a payment provider, consider the countries where the business is located and where your customers live. Shopify's list of payment gateways by country can help you find out which ones are available for different locations, along with the currencies they support. Click the link that just popped up to take a look!

We recommend having multiple payment options-- studies show that having payment options on the store can boost conversions by 71%. That’s a lot, so you definitely want to be considering this.

Okay! Let’s set these up now.

Back at your admin dashboard, click Settings. Click on “Payments” This page will open up. Let’s start with choosing a Third Party Provider. This is your primary payment gateway. After clicking that, you’ll find the list of payment providers that you can use. There’s Cashfree, PayU Money, Stripe and so on.

Choose whatever is convenient for you.

Let’s click PayU Money - now, this is the screen that will open up. They’re gonna ask for your account information, like your Merchant Key and Merchant Salt. Your payment provider will give you those details.  Of course we can’t do that here because, you know, privacy - but, once you add them in, click “Activate” on the bottom right, and your payment method will be set up.

Most of these payment providers support all the important methods like credit card, debit card, UPI and netbanking.

Next, let’s look at “Alternative Payment” - your secondary payment gateway. Here you’ll find another list of payment providers lPayTM, Razorpay, PayU India and so on.

Lets click on Razorpay - it’s pretty much the same drill here. Add in your API Key ID and API Key Secret and hit Activate. You can also see the list of methods it supports - visa, mastercard, rupay, ola money, freecharge and so on.

Like we said, the more options, the better.

Finally, we have “Manual Payment Methods” that include Bank Deposit, Money Order and Cash on Delivery.

To make it easy for you to offer cash on delivery on your Shopify store, we’ve developed an app called Advanced Cash on Delivery.

Now scroll to the Payment Capture section and select one of the two options- ‘Automatically’ and ‘Manually’.

With ‘Automatically,’ as soon as the order comes in, the payment gets captured - so it’s definitely the preferred method. But, you can also manually capture your payments, which is suitable if you’re a wholesaler and have to wait for a certain period of time for the payments.

And that’s that - your payment methods are all set up.

We’re so close to having a fully functioning store, there’s just a tiny bit more to go.
